Welcome to a wonderful weekend full of new possibilities for your Zouk!
We are very happy to welcome Olga and Fernando from Bremen for the second time in Zurich, where they will present their Zouk Atoms concept. Last time we had a great experience and we would love to do it again!
We are really looking forward to a whole weekend of zouk lessons and social dancing with you all!

-> We recommend having attended more than 6 months of regular classes.
Basic skills include elements such as; Basicstep, Lateral, Singleturns, Game of Soltinho, Jojo & Boomerang. We also recommend mastering the basics of circular head movements.

On Saturday and during the workshops on Saturday & Sunday, soft drinks and water are available free of charge.

Workshop Topics
FRIDAY -
INTRODUCTION TO ZOUK ATOMS
The weekend begins on Friday with a two-hour workshop that is both:
– A refresh workshop to immerse yourself in the world of Zouk Atoms again
– An introduction to the Zouk Atoms, if you haven’t had the opportunity to get to know them yet
If you are new to Zouk (less than 6 months of regular lessons), this workshop is a prerequisite to participate in the other workshops of the weekend.
SATURDAY -
ZOUK ATOMS IN THE SHADOW POSITION
The Zouk Atoms describe the structures or loops that are created by different Zouk figures. These can be danced from different perspectives.
Dancing them in the shadow position while adding head movements is both challenging and incredibly fun. Be ready to expand your horizons!
TEACHER PROGRAM
TEACHING THE ZOUK ATOMS (PART 1)
We offer a lesson especially for Zouk teachers who want to integrate the Zouk Atoms into their lessons.
This session will clearly explain the basic concepts of Zouk Atoms and how to teach them effectively to students.
SUNDAY -
ZOUK ATOMS AT CLOSE EMBRACE
All Zouk Atoms can also be danced in Close Embrace if adapted accordingly – which will be the focus of Sunday.
Even if we add Head Movements, the Close Embrace requires adjustments in technique, especially in the execution of the head movements.

TEACHING THE ZOUK ATOMS (PART 2)
After reviewing the basics of Zouk Atoms on Saturday, we will now deconstruct basic Zouk elements (such as bônus, ioio and soltinho).
The aim is to introduce new variations that help students to better understand the dynamics and develop their own variations.
MONDAY -
THE LAMBATOMS!
You can integrate the Zouk Atoms into the structure of the Lambada and thus expand your possibilities on the dance floor enormously.
